Try It Free


I don’t do things halfway.  I am all in or forget it.  Well this year I decided to get in shape finally.  I have been putting this off for the last 2 years – believe it or not!

I am fortunate not to have a big weight problem, but I am so out of shape, I decided to get a personal trainer personal trainer in Vancouver where I work.  Image how pleased I was to find out the Precision Athletics offers a free personal training session.

It is for people who don’t know if they want or need a personal trainer in Vancouver.  You try it first and see if that’s what you want and need.  Really I knew I needed a personal trainer, but what the heck … it was free to try … why not!  It turned out to be more than I could have hoped.  I got a tour or their facilities and they discussed my fitness goals (to get in shape) and my training history (that didn’t take long because there isn’t any).

They put me through a workout based on my individual needs and condition – I really appreciated that, because I had visions of dragging myself home after being worked out, but it wasn’t like that at all.  I enjoyed it so much that I signed up for a regular trainer and am on my way to a better me!

Building up the Muscle


I’ve been really trying to build some muscle this winter.  I have been concentrating on lifting lower reps and higher weight in order to build myself up.   Luckily, I started going to Precision Athletics for my fitness in Vancouver. They understand how to train someone like me who wants to increase muscle mass without being muscle bound.
Unlike those who are concerned with their fitness in Vancouver, I have put on some extra weight during these winter months.  With the holidays and my bathing suits and shorts packed away for months due to the cold weather, I always seem to gain some weight. It never fails!
With the training routine I received at Precision Athletics, I’m know a lot of the extra pounds I’ve gained this winter are some sexy muscle that is just waiting to bust out!  They have me adding more cardio to help fat loss and building up the lifting reps.  As well, they gave me some great diet advice to clean up my eating.  I liked that they took my lifestyle into account and suggested a plan that was easy for me to follow.  Luckily, as you build muscle you actually have to eat a little more, but it must be the right foods.
Some simple changes will have me shedding my winter weight quickly and I can’t wait to see how good I am going to look in my bikini next summer.

How Cool Is That …?


This year I want to improve my golf game … I am in a new age category this year and think I can win a few tournaments because I will be the youngest.  So I have been doing indoor golf training all winter.  My golf coach told me I could improve my swing if I had more core strength.

Some of my friends go to Precision Athletics, the Vancouver fitness center located downtown and they are always saying how great it is in.  I really didn’t think I could spare the time for more training in addition to working and golf lessons, but I checked it out.  Really glad I did because they had exactly what I needed – very cool.

Precision Athletics has a special class called Core Circuit especially for strengthening abs, sides, lower back and other core muscles. The best part is they offer the training at 12:10, right at my lunch hour!  It works perfectly for me, I can fit in the training I need and it doesn’t add any extra time commitments to my day.  Sarah, our trainer keeps the class fun and motivating and I can feel the difference in my core strength already.

This Year I’m Not Waiting


This year I am not waiting until after the Holidays to get into shape.  Other years in January I have joined the herds at the gym, actually lining up for machines!

I also didn’t want to wait until my real winter hibernation sets in … when I won’t leave the house for anything except necessities.  If I am honest, I also like the self-righteousness of looking forward to already being at my proper weight when everyone else is making their lame New Year’s resolutions to lose “X” number of pounds.

Not being patient, I need everything done yesterday, so I investigated a new Vancouver fitness program at Precision Athletics called Boot Camp Vancouver.  I figured the faster the better, but I still wasn’t sure, so I signed up for a one week free trial.  They have a fitness program that starts slow and gets more intense as it goes along.  I love the small class sizes and the fact that it is indoors gives me much-needed inspiration to keep going through the exercises, weights and my favorite cardio.  They have morning, lunch and evening sessions, so it’s easy to make fitness part of your schedule.

I am half way to my weight goal and feel more toned and I am already practicing my modest replies for the people I meet over the Holidays … “why yes I have been working out” …  “oh thank you, you look great too”…
